North Marion Parents - Funds Request Form

This form is for Classes and Clubs associated with the North Marion School District to submit for funds generated by the North Marion Parents non-profit group.

Thursday, September 10th was our first North Marion Parents meeting. There was some great conversations and planning that was done! I am very excited about where this year will take us. Here are the meeting minutes below to keep you informed! I hope that if you are at all curious about what we do, please join us at a meeting. We are very open to suggestions and answering questions!

Our next meeting is scheduled for October 1, 2015 – 7pm in MS library.

September 10, 2015 Regular Meeting Minutes

Called to order at 7:02 by Heidi. 

Attendees: Heidi Johnson, Maile Hurst, Meredith Akin, DiDi Orr, Dawn Radilla, Sam Bonser, Aimee Ford, Chrissy Sullivan, Kyra Smay, Christina Leder, Angela Wheatcroft, Amanda McCracken, and Karla Morales.

Minutes for August were read by DiDi.

Treasurer’s Report was given by Maile.  eScrip cancelled.  Promoting our Fred Meyer Rewards and AmazonSmile rewards.  Hopfest and Nacho Booth final profits given.

Nacho Booth – Maile reported that daily deposits need to be made and that all bills need to be paid by check to create a more complete paper trail.  Overall, went well.  Lower profits this year could be from cooler weather and at least one class didn’t do stand sales very well.  Some soda and candy left over.  Angie to buy remaining Gatorade and water for concessions at cost.  Nacho Booth rules and funds distribution rules needed from Kris Smith. 

MS Library Shelves – NMP purchased bakers shelving for library to store text books freeing up space for a student groups to meet.  Librarian also took photo of NMP members and gave a thank you note.  NMP to post photo and letter on FB and blog.

Meeting w/Boyd Keiser – Heidi reported that Superintendent Keiser would like NMP to offer some time at our community events for staff to discuss their Topics Forum.  He would like to enlist NMP’s support for the 2018 Bond.  Ideas given were a possible Mixer for community to visit with Superintendent and Principals for members to offer feedback on what is needed and public perceptions.

Welcome – Heidi officially welcomed new members to our meeting.

Bylaws – DiDi to update and present at next meeting along with changes to NMP Scholarship, and Conflict of Interest Policy.  Ideas to post these items along with Treasurer’s Report were given.

Carnival – 10/17 @ PS.  Co-Chairs Sara Secor and Heidi Johnson with Andrea to coordinate games and prizes.  Carnival meeting TBD.  Angie and Christina volunteered to help prior.  Ideas given were photo booth and costume exchange.

PTC Meals – 10/21.  Baked Potato bar.  Potatoes to be purchased by NMP, volunteers to bring chili, broccoli cheese, stroganoff, cheese, sour cream, butter, salad, etc.  Ideas to have first night so leftovers could be used next day, and to possibly bake potatoes at a school.  Volunteers to drop off food at each school, not central location.  Angie offered to head.
